Simplicity ❤️ Privacy

Hello again,

The main reason I have wanted to make a period tracker app for years is that I found the exciting apps too detailed. So detailed, they often felt invasive.

Am I feeling angry, anxious or sad? Am I bleeding 1 drop, 2 drops, or more?

After learning that most of these apps share/sell the data they collect, it made perfect sense; valuable information is structured and detailed.

I could have made POW! less detailed without also focusing on privacy. But I have no reason not to!

For Fathom, a website analytics tool, I feel privacy is the driving force.

It turns out a lot of the clutter in Google Analytics vanishes when a visitor’s privacy is taken seriously.

A lot of clutter I never used or were interested in. The only one benefitting from me mindlessly adding it to all sites by default was Google.

So far, I am really enjoying the simpler Fathom experience, and I hope my users will feel the same about POW!

If you would like to test Fathom, you can use my affiliate link for $10 off or go straight to usefathom.com if you do not want me to know ;)

Now if someone could make a nice and simple newsletter service without default tracking I would be all in.

Join the crew!

All the shenanigans from me and my piratical family, straight to your inbox.
