My favorite Signal feature you might not know about

Hello there,

Signal has soared in popularity lately!

Why? The New York Times tells the story in “Millions Flock to Telegram and Signal as Fears Grow Over Big Tech.”

Maybe you are one of its new users?
Or perhaps you were convinced way back when I recommended it a year ago?

Either way, here is my favorite Signal feature you might not know about:

It is possible to message yourself, and by doing so, get a personal and encrypted notebook. Great if you would like to note something down before a doctor’s appointment, for instance.

You may even do it as a voice memo!

And if you install Signal on your computer, you get instant access to your encrypted personal notes there as well.

Are you onboard the Signal train?

Until next week,
Benedicte

PS: “What is the best secure messaging app?” by NordVPN is still a good read. It looks like they keep it up to date as well.

PPS: If you are Norwegian, NRK has also made a good write up in the wake of the What’s App changes as well.

Join the crew!

All the shenanigans from me and my piratical family, straight to your inbox.
