What is the privacy-first alternative?

Hello there,

From the responses, I got to the last e-mail and general media buzz, it does seem that more and more of you are questioning the tools we use every day.

We are concerned about content privacy, but also the privacy of our behavior: where we were, how often we use the tool, and so on.

But as one of you replied “what is the alternative?”.

One tool most of us use is some sort of messaging app such as SMS, iMessage, Facebook Messenger, and more.

A user-friendly alternative to these types of apps is Signal.

Signal uses end-to-end encryption to protect your content; it is open-source and does not track your behavior.

If you would like to see how it compares to similar privacy concerned chat apps, Nord VPN has a excellent write up.
